Confused by file types and sizes, resolution, compression, the difference in photos for the web, emailing and printing?
This workshop is designed to answer your questions about digital images, cameras, files, file formats, kilobytes, pixels, bits, acronyms (RGB, JPG, GIF…), and general gibberish that can be overwhelming.
Topics include:
- The structure of a digital image (what are pixels?)
- Resolution, colour, information – how numbers make pictures
- Digital capture devices (focusing mainly on cameras)
- File formats, files sizes and compression
- Output: web, email, print, lab
- Saving and storing images
- Sharing your images with the world
or bring along your own questions.
