What should you consider before taking the plunge?

Morning:
Domain name or not – consider e-mail continuity;Build or have built?,CMS,Template site,Self build,website,blog; Purpose for your website – what is its mission – window or generator of income?; Time commitment – bang for bucks;
Middle block:
Tools for a DIY site, Register your domain, hosting your domain, ftp client, Dreamweaver/graphics programs- time,CPanel overview;CPanel – installing a wordpress blog; Discussion time
Afternoon:
Reflection from the morning; Budget/cost – time vs outsourcing; Building traffic to your site using social networks; 9 point marketing strategy; Discussion

This would not be a practical day, rather an information sharing day to help build informed choices. It is not designed to scare people off, but to inform what the potential pitfalls are for both self build and template outsourced sites.
