Workshop One

 

Technology Leaders Challenge

2 days of fun with technology

 

Participants will face two fantastic challenges

 

Challenge 1. Creating 20 Buller Landmarks in 3D on Google Earth.

Learn how to use the 3D modeling programme Sketchup then we will re-create 20 Buller landmarks into 3D and upload it to Google Earth, for the world to see.

 

Challenge 2. Photographic Scavenger Hunt
Working with a professional photographer you will be shown how to take great photos and digitally enhance them. With these skills you will then undertake the Photographic Scavenger Hunt where you will receive clues and challenges that will conclude with a finished photographic art work.  

Tutors: Eric Martini and Jason Blair

Dates and Time: 19th and 20th January 2011, 9:30-3pm

Venue: Westport North School

Cost:  Free

Age: Year 6 to 8. High school students interested in attending are also welcome to register.

What to bring: Morning tea and lunch, solid waterproof shoes, and a memory stick to take your work home (optional)

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

  

Workshop Two

 

GPS Art

Let’s combine art, science, technology, navigation and good old fashioned running around outside.  Using GPS technology, participants will plan and create a piece of artwork on a huge scale, using ourselves as the paintbrush!  Learn about GPS, how it works, and how we can use it in creative ways.

 Tutor: Jason Blair

 Dates and Time: Fri 21st January 2011, 9:30-3pm

 Age: Year 5 to 8. High school students interested in attending are also welcome to register

 Venue: Westport North School

 Cost: $10

 What to bring: Morning tea and lunch, solid waterproof shoes.
